Zack Snyder to Direct ‘Teen Titans’ Live Action Film

Zack Snyder adds another DC film to his list with “Teen Titans!”

While the hate continued to flow for “Batman V Superman,” the outstanding box office numbers have pushed Warner Bros. to give Zack Snyder yet another film to take a swing at. To run alongside “Justice League,” “Teen Titans” will be a complimentary film that explores a younger generation of superheroes. Snyder of course touted that he would give the true fans what they wanted from the film.

The underlying theme of the “Teen Titans” is the teen aspect. They are full of raging hormones and going through one of the darkest periods of their lives…the teenage years. I plan on developing those emotions and exploring the dark recesses of their minds, like the comics should have done.

This is an interesting take on these comic book characters. Sure they have been pushed as one of the more family friendly groups of characters but Snyder wants to show their adult side. Many kids and adults have grown to love shows like “Teen Titans Go!” which further enforces this kid friendly atmosphere, but that’s not what sells tickets. “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” proved that and then some.

If DC is going to succeed at beating Marvel then they will need to explore their entire library and then lose the colorful tone. “Teen Titans” may have characters like Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad but Snyder may give us the reimagining of the characters that we didn’t even know we wanted. Just imagine all of that teen angst being unleashed into a battle that essentially becomes a bloodbath. This could be the darkest DC film yet!

What do you think of Zack Snyder taking “Teen Titans” now? Do you think he can do the film “justice?” (I made a pun for once…)
