Speculation becomes a reality as the Archangel concept art for “X-Men: Apocalypse” is revealed!
We learned today that X-Men: Apocalypse‘s Angel is “not very nice” in today’s reveal of the Archangel concept art revealed to us by GeekLegacy.com. Further developing the speculation into near certainty, Director Bryan Singer revealed that the Angel we know in this film will not be the hero that emerged in “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
“Ben Hardy is Angel – I shall confirm it for you! But he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…”
Bryan Singer more recently hinted Archangel in an Instagram post and that was exciting enough. But now we get to see the amazingly awesome concept art above that has me even more excited for one of my favorite X-Men characters.
As shown in the top header image, it looks like Bryan Singer is possibly drawing some creativity from the X-Force version of Archangel. The original Archangel was a comprised of shades of purple and blue but later received a more modern makeover when joining X-Force. While this could be coincidental, the dark colors are very reminiscent of this look but he could also be following the sleek color schema he’s been working with on all of his other “X-Men” films. I had wondered how he would be able to capture the metallic look of Archangel’s wings without going overboard but it looks like he has done very well based on this concept art. I only hope that the transformation process is equally as cool as the art featured above.
