Twilight is getting more films after Breaking Dawn

“Twilight” isn’t done yet! Five “mini-movies” are coming exclusively to Facebook!

The “Twilight” series was a film franchise that became a phenomenon. The fans of the books rejoiced once the films came into fruition and the fans of the films flocked to the books which created an all around fan base on both fronts. Now 3 years after the release of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2,” not 1 but 5 more mini-films will be coming. And the outlet for their release…Facebook.

As announced by the The New York Times, Lionsgate is resurrecting its supremely popular supernatural romance saga in the form of a series of “mini-movies,” set to premiere exclusively on Facebook next year.

There’s no mention of Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart reprising their roles and chances are they will not appear in any of these films. I’m guessing that the films will follow suit with many other spinoff projects that capitalize on the name but explore stories related instead of the main story that hooked everyone in the first place. I’m wondering how well the films will do with Facebook as the outlet. Sure there will be a fan base that watches the films but will this strategy place a barrier to entry for other movie-goers?

I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I thought that Film Fad would continue on without ever having to cover any new “Twilight” news but unfortunately Facebook has ruined that plan! I guess we have to look forward to covering more “Twilight” because like the the vampires in the films, this franchise seems like it will never die.

For those “Twilight” fans out there, what do you think of this news?
