With strong veteran and upcoming actors, “Wolves” shows strong potential.
Veteran actors Michael Shannon and Carla Cugino star alongside upcoming actors Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta”) and Taylor John Smith (“Cruel Intentions”) in “Wolves.” This tells the story of a young basketball player on the rise and recruited by Cornell University. While his future may seem bright, troubles at home jeopardize his dreams due to financial issues and his father’s gambling addiction. Check out the trailer below.
After watching this trailer, I think that this film has a lot of potential. Many projects that have Michael Shannon attached are very well received by critics. With “Wolves,” the plot also fits into a formula for success. There are many moving pieces to this story and if executed correctly, this could be an indie film that finds sleeper success.
After the success of FX’s “Atlanta,” “Wolves” also holds a lot of potential for rising star Zazie Beetz. This could be another step towards putting her in the limelight if the film can live up to expectations driven by this trailer.
