The trailer for “Hacksaw Ridge” arrived today starring Andrew Garfield!
“Hacksaw Ridge” tells the true story of Desmond Doss, a doctor turned soldier during World War II that saves the lives of many without ever firing a single shot. The trailer gives us an in depth look at this Mel Gibson directed film starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, and Vince Vaughn. Take a look at the trailer below.
Andrew Garfield has been rather quiet in regards to his career ever since departing from “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise. After a few indie films, “Hacksaw Ridge” could definitely land him back in the spotlight given the cast, subject matter, and director of the film.
Interesting enough, Mel Gibson has also been a name that rarely gets exposure in Hollywood as of late. Having his name attached to some controversy hasn’t helped his career but nonetheless, he is still an Academy Award winning director. His Oscar win for “Braveheart” and other critically acclaimed films he’s directed makes “Hacksaw Ridge” a film that will be definitely on my radar. It even has the potential for some Oscar buzz if Gibson holds true to his track record.

Looks like its going to be a one of those films that's both very good and very hard to watch.
For anyone wanting more information on the real Desmond Doss. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_Doss
There are many times in which movies glamourize the heroic exploits of people and try to make them more entertaining and larger than life. Reading the citation on Doss and what he did, I don't think any extra fluff will be needed.
