My opinion of the last “Alice in Wonderland” was that it seemed a bit mediocre. There were some amazing visuals and some great cast members involved but there was something missing that made it seem less ethereal and more stale. It could be that the visuals may have been distracting or that the characters didn’t adapt well in this version, but overall audiences were on the fence as well.
The sequel should have a bit more intrigue surrounding it. “Through the Looking Glass” is a title that people know but should have far less expectations cinematically. With this film, Disney has the opportunity to get a bit more creative and inject some elements that people will not expect. From the teasers that we see here, we can already expect things to be a bit more surprising due to the unfamiliar setting when compared to “Alice in Wonderland.” Hopefully this sequel will be able to surpass its predecessor.
