“The Big Short” trailer lands today with an A-List cast on board.
“The Big Short” trailer arrives today and tells the true story of the U.S. housing market bubble bursting. The film is based off of the same titled book from author Michael Lewis who also brought us the book from which “Moneyball” was based upon. In addition to the film coming from the acclaimed author, “The Big Short” features a huge lineup of high profile Hollywood actors. Take a look at the trailer below.
“The Big Short” is set for a December release and with the attached cast it could be just in time for an Oscar nod. With Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Steve Carell, and Ryan Gosling attached, this film is sure to generate buzz with audiences looking to catch their favorite actors on the big screen.
This will be the second time that Brad Pitt has worked on a Michael Lewis adapted film. As previously stated, “Moneyball” was another film adapted from Lewis’ work starring Pitt and was also based on true events. This film should figuratively “hit home” with many people who experienced the housing market crash in the United States. This could resonate well with many movie-goers based on history and nostalgia alone.
It’s also interesting to see Steve Carell teamed up with many actors who he has not worked with before. It was just last year that Carell wowed audiences with an Oscar nomination for Foxcatcher. It will be interesting to see if he can distance himself even further from the comedic roles that he’s been known for and hold his own with these other high-profile, dramatic actors.
“The Big Short” is set for a U.S. release on December 25, 2015.
