Two clips from “Terminator: Genisys” reveal what the hell is going on!
With the trailers, TV spots, and other media, Terminator: Genisys has made its presence known but still has many questioning where the plot will lead us. Today two clips from the film were released and provide insight into why Sarah Connor is saving Kyle Reese and why this isn’t the 1984 Sarah Connor that we knew.
It seems like “Terminator: Genisys” is taking a note from “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” In that show, Sarah Connor also began time traveling fighting small battles one episode at a time to preserve the timeline leading to the future, rather than just preventing Judgement Day. As Sarah explains to Kyle here, it turns out that she has knowledge of the first film’s timeline leading us to believe that this is Sarah Connor from a post “T2: Judgment Day” timeline.
As I’ve said before, “Terminator: Genisys” may be the sequel that we’ve been deserving for quite some time. Based on what we know, this film plays off of the continuity of the first two James Cameron films which should be satisfying for many die hard fans. We get to see Emilia Clarke playing the Sarah Connor we love and then we have Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as the T-800 sent to protect John Connor. We’re getting the best parts of the best films, so hopefully the execution of this film will be smooth in integrating these characters into the story.
The final question I have though is where is the young John Connor? Did Sarah leave him behind while she left to fight or is he in some sort of safehouse? I’m sure that this is a mystery that we’ll have to wait to have unraveled once the film releases this Summer.
