Broken Lizard, the creative force behind cult comedy “Super Troopers,” is back at it again, but this time they are teaming up with TBS to pen the script for a new comedy series.
“Who wants a mustache ride?”
If “Super Troopers” does not ring a bell (it really should), how about some of their other cult hits like “Beerfest” and “Club Dread?” Established in 1996 by Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske, the Broken Lizard comedy troupe has been collaborating on the screen-writing, acting and productions of their films and otherwise for almost two decades.
TBS gave Variety.com exclusive confirmation that the team-up is far more real than internet rumor would imply. The project has been dubbed “Quality Time” and is being both developed and produced by Entertainment One Television. The story is set to revolve around the trails and tribulations of the aged troupe as they trudge further into adulthood.
The show is slated to be written by a bulk of the Broken Lizard troupe themselves, which will include Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. They will also co-produce the series along with Steven Amato (“License to Operate”).
No details have been released as to an expected premiere date, but that will give us and the internet a chance to remember why we love Broken Lizard’s comedy stylings in the first place.
