“Road House” is getting a reboot and UFC Champ Ronda Rousey is set to take the lead!
The cult classic Patrick Swayze film “Road House” is the next film on Hollywood’s list of reboots but this reboot won’t be male-led. This time around, the lead character will be played by none other than UFC Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey who is more than excited to take the part.
The original film was released in 1989 and gave Patrick Swayze a more “tough-guy” persona after stealing the hearts of many women in 1987’s “Dirty Dancing.” “Road House” tells the story of a bouncer named Dalton that is hired to clean up one of the most troublesome bars in Missouri, “The Double Deuce.” In addition to cleaning up the bar, Dalton discovers that corruption goes much further than “The Double Deuce” and he gets involved with cleaning up corruption in the town as well.
Ronda Rousey has expressed deep interest in starring in a remake of a classic film but was also very humble in regards to the process. Out of respect for the film and Patrick Swayze, Rousey reached out to Swayze’s widowed wife Lisa Niemi to ask for her blessing, which she gladly gave.
So far we have seen Ronda Rousey appearing in a variety of films but this may be her biggest yet. She has had roles in big name films like Furious 7, “The Expendables 3,” and more recently “Entourage,” but “Road House” will definitely give her the full spotlight. Ronda Rousey also has three other projects in the works making “Road House” her fourth upcoming film where she will have a starring role.
The “Road House” reboot currently does not have a release date.
What do you think about Ronda Rousey starring in a “Road House” reboot? Do you like the idea or not?

Not really a "reboot" since Road House was a stand alone film.
