Rights for Donald Trump Film Sold to Sony, Release Next Year
Donald Trump has a film on the way thanks to Sony!
Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is getting his own biopic and it’s getting pushed into production fast! Who would buy the rights to such a controversial public figure? Well when you’re Sony and have already had a number of questionable email leaks, you may as well go for broke. And when we say broke…we mean broke! That’s right, Sony reportedly spent upwards of $17.5 million for the biopic rights.
Sony Pictures has acquired the rights for a Donald Trump biopic for an estimated $17.5 million dollars. Reportedly they are already courting Director Darren Aronofsky to helm the film and Jack Nicholson for the lead role. The film will primarily be focused on his run for the President of the United States.
Of course Donald Trump was more than happy to get another big payday and loved the idea of a film being made about his run to be leader of the United States. He was as optimistic about the film as his chances at being the next President of the United States.
This is great! It’s all great and just like me as the next President of the United States, this film is going to be the best. I’ll be sure to hold a private screening at the White House.
Trump’s words are confidently bold but anything he says at this point is just fodder for the film. Even though Sony plans to release the film in 2017, the film’s ending will of course be dependent upon the 2016 election. The results of the election could be what sets the tone of this film.
