Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are back in the trailer for “Ride Along 2!”
“Ride Along 2” is on its way and from the looks of this trailer below, it’s much of the same comedy with a higher sequel budget. Olivia Munn joins stars Ice Cube and Kevin Hart along with “Community” star Ken Jeong. Take a look at the trailer below and see how these new additions work with the already established buddy cop duo.
In the first “Ride Along” Kevin Hart played a security guard that is trying to impress his future wife’s brother (Ice Cube) who happens to be a police officer. In an attempt to impress him, Kevin Hart joins Ice Cube on a ride along which turns into an unexpected series of events. In “Ride Along 2,” it seems like there are many of the same antics. With Ice Cube playing the tough guy role and Kevin Hart still struggling to be an authoritative law enforcement official, the pair fall into many similar situations from the first film.
With newcomers Olivia Munn and Ken Jeong, “Ride Along 2” is definitely trying to appeal to more markets with the fan following of these two actors. Kevin Hart and Ice Cube can definitely hold the film on their own, but with a sequel comes a bigger budget meaning more stars and more flair. And besides, who wouldn’t love to get some additional laughs from Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn? “Ride Along” had a budget of $25 million and made about $150 million worldwide. With that kind of profit, a sequel was inevitable and it’s not surprising to see this film developing so quickly.
“Ride Along 2” has an expected release date of January 22, 2016.
