Evan Peters will reprise his role of Quicksilver in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and possibly further.
Newsarama spoke with Brian Smrz, aka Bryan Singer’s right hand man, about “X-Men: Apocalypse” and Quicksilver’s involvement in the film. Apparently Evan Peters will reprise his role in the next X-Men installment and may have a future as a solo film star. Read what Brian Smrz had to say below!
Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to; that’ll be fun.
We talked about Quicksilver before, I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character. But I’m not geared just towards superhero movies; for me it’s about great main characters, and finding movies that have that.
I agree with the majority in regards to the Quicksilver scene in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” It was an extremely well shot and aesthetically pleasing scene. But, based on a short assessment of the character, I did not think that Evan Peters’ version of the character was worthy of a solo film. I think the super speed powers add entertainment value to the films and would be welcomed throughout the X-Men franchise, but a solo film just doesn’t interest me. Maybe they could further develop the character into someone that an audience could relate to and thereby create a solid story, but at this moment I only see Quicksilver as a background character. In order to survive in a solo film, I would like them to include a strong supporting cast and maybe create that Magneto family dynamic that was hinted at in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
