The atmosphere outside Buckingham Palace was spirited and colorful as the fully costumed Queen’s Guard regales passers-by with a spot-on rendition of the “Game of Thrones” theme song.
This is not your usual changing of the guard.
The original theme’s composer, Ramin Djawadi, must be pleased. This is one of many covers that have popped up on the interwebs since the Emmy-nominated HBO series hit the small screen in April 2011.
Djawadi is no stranger to soundtrack successes, credited with numerous blockbusters including Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, and Pacific Rim.
The “Game of Thrones” cast is no stranger to the music scene either. “Hodor” himself, actor Kristian Nairn, has recently announced that he will be embarking on a DJ tour across Australia in late August. That’s right, your favorite half-witted single word speaking servant will be putting it down on the 1‘s and 2‘s. According to RollingStone, the six-show tour will be appropriately titled “Rave of Thrones.”
