Paul Reubens claims that a Pee-wee Herman film is on the verge of being announced!
With a remastered Blu-ray of “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” being released, questions arose regarding the feature film comeback of Pee-wee Herman. Rolling Stone recently interviewed Paul Reubens which brought about the discussion of a Pee-wee Herman film. When asked about a future film, Paul Reubens claimed the announcement would be “any minute now” which surprised both Rolling Stone and most of the general public.

Yes. It’s been months and months of being right on the verge of being announced…I thought something was going to go public yesterday, actually, and that you’d be the first person I’d be talking about this with. But I’m thinking there will be something made public very soon. It’s going to get made shortly after the new year. I wish I could tell you about it right now, because…I mean, it’s amazing. It’s going to be amazing. It think it first got leaked four years ago or so that the movie was going to be made, and ever since then it’s just been stalling and stalling. So I’m really ready for this to happen. But I’m not kidding: It’s very imminent.
Hollywood is currently following a fad of rebooting our favorite classic shows and films. Paul Reubens had a good run as Pee-wee Herman until a certain sex scandal killed his career. The Pee-wee Herman films were filled with slapstick comedy but both kids and adults found entertainment in those films.
I am ready for a Pee-wee Herman revival and it’s about time to let the past be the past. Pee-wee Herman brought a lot of joy to many with his own brand of humor and I admit that I will be just as excited to see a new film today as I was as a kid. I can’t wait for the official announcement of the next Pee-wee Herman film so that I can relive my childhood.
