In 1988 George Lucas produced a Ron Howard directed film called “Willow” and a cult favorite was born. I can speak for myself that it is one of my most treasured of films. But why is that? Why did this film under perform when it was originally released but now has fans so dedicated? With a local theater the Naro screening it soon (June 1st) I thought it would be good to try and find out beforehand.

I personally LOVED “Force Awakens” and I think other people did too. Or at least most people did. Now before I proceed don’t misunderstand me, I am NOT saying that if you disliked the movie your opinion is wrong. I’m also not trying to box everyone who disliked it into angry internet trolls. People will like what they will. You are all entitled to your opinion. That being said I’m entitled to completely disagree with it and with this article try to fully articulate why I think those who complain about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” are on a great first step into a larger world. Recently indie filmmaker Kevin Smith made headlines announcing a new film on the horizon, ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.’ This would in fact be a sequel to his earlier film ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ which had meant to be the end of the Viewaskew series of films that included ‘Clerks’, ‘Mallrats’, ‘Chasing Amy’, ‘Dogma’, and the aforementioned Jay and Silent Bob original. Minor spoiler but that film ends with God from ‘Dogma’ literally closing the book on the Viewaskew universe. Thinking ahead he left a few pages open for more films in he ever felt compelled. As such we eventually got ‘Clerks 2’ which many viewers felt was a return to form for him.
