More Bad News For Nintendo Switch Early Adopters, No Virtual Console At Launch

Nintendo Switch users won’t be downloading their classic game favorites at launch.

In a recent press release, Nintendo announced that their latest console, the Nintendo Switch, will not have the virtual console available at launch. This means that many users hoping to supplement the Switch exclusive titles like “Zelda: Breath of the Wild” will have their hopes put on hold for the time being.

“Virtual Console games will not be available on Nintendo Switch at launch,” the company said in a press release. “We will share more information in the future.”

Just recently fans were met with minor disappointment of the stock memory being insufficient for some games and now this news dampens excitement even more. With exciting news that Nintendo would finally be bringing GameCube games to the virtual console, the lack of the virtual console leaves us with more anticipation of when the console will fully reach its potential.

Nintendo has yet to establish a strong online gaming market. This could be why the virtual console is not a priority at launch. But now with the release date of March 3rd approaching and preorders practically sold out, I wonder how many on-the-fence fans will forgo the initial launch and let others stress test the console.

Will you still be an early adopter of the Nintendo Switch? Tell us in the comments below!
