The trailer for Michael Moore’s latest film “Where to Invade Next” debuts.
Michael Moore is known for his controversial documentaries and his latest seems to follow suit. The trailer for “Where to Invade Next” has debuted just before its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Take a look at the trailer below.
The United States is usually the subject matter of Michael Moore’s documentaries. Whether it be healthcare with his documentary “Sicko,” school shootings and gun control with “Bowling for Columbine,” or even 9/11 with his film “Farenheit 9/11,” Moore tends to highlight flaws of the USA. With his latest film “Where to Invade Next,” we find Michael Moore traveling the world gaining perspective from other countries in regards to the United States’ invasion of other countries.
Michael Moore has been criticized in the past for labeling his films as documentaries despite their agenda-driven, one-sided perspective on controversial subjects. While “true” documentaries are supposed to remain as impartial as possible, Michael Moore makes his point of view apparent throughout his films. He may be wrong or he may be right but the conflict lies in the expression of his opinion.
“Where to Invade Next” should stir up even more controversy between the public that is pro-war and those that have a non-interfering perspective. Throughout the trailer Michael Moore uses a variety of analogies to make his point. He even goes as far as plant an American flag in someone’s home claiming it as his own.
“Where to Invade Next” is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival that runs from September 10th to September 20, 2015. It is set for official release on October 2, 2015.
