‘Logan’ Trailer Stirs Cinematic Emotions With Its Score And Flow

One last time! Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine in the first trailer for “Logan!”

We’ve been teased with posters and images but now the “Logan” trailer has arrived. With a Johnny Cash score it flows in a very dramatic way. In comparison to other Wolverine films, “Logan” looks to carry a much more serious tone. Patrick Stewart joins Hugh Jackman in the film reprising his role as Charles Xavier aka Professor X. Take a look at the trailer below.

There is definitely some emotional weight this time around. Director James Mangold returns to the director’s chair after “The Wolverine” for Jackman’s “final” performance as the X-Man. It’s fitting that the trailer would include Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” given that Mangold directed “Walk The Line.” With “The Wolverine” receiving some mixed responses, Mangold may be bringing some of that “Walk The Line” character development to “Logan.”

Hugh Jackman definitely seems to be bringing his best to the film. While known for playing Wolverine, Jackman may be bringing some of his Oscar-nominated skills to the film. Joined by the prestigious Patrick Stewart, they should bounce off of each other very well. Although the plot doesn’t lend itself to the idea, I would think that Stewart wouldn’t have such a tangible role. Professor X is supposed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s as Logan’s healing factor is fading as well. But based on this trailer, it seems like Professor X is more of a manifestation that Logan is imagining. It may be far-fetched, but I think it would also be an interesting way of Wolverine coping.

While we know little at this point, “Logan” appears to carry a very serious tone. The trailer looks absolutely amazing and I’m more excited than I thought I would be. “Logan” is set for release on March 3, 2017.

Are you as excited as I am for “Logan?”
