Little Mermaid creators introducing Disney’s Moana in 2016
Hey “Little Mermaid” fans, there’s a new like-minded film coming in 2016 called “Moana!”
Classic Disney fans may rejoice with the announcement of “Moana” coming in November 2016. From the team that brought you “The Little Mermaid” comes an adventure about a young girl on a journey to fulfill her ancestor’s request. Read the full synopsis below!
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated comedy-adventure about a spirited teenager on an impossible mission to fulfill her ancestors’ quest. A born navigator, Moana sets sail from the ancient South Pacific islands of Oceania in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker, Moana arrives in theaters in late 2016.
The plot honestly sounds more captivating than most other Disney films I’ve seen. It has the potential for great animation, an intriguingly suspenseful plot progression, and many unique characters throughout.
With Disney being in the spotlight for Marvel and “Star Wars” films, it’s nice to see that they’re still dabbling where they started. “Moana” seems like it has a setting that is a cross between “Lilo & Stitch” and “The Little Mermaid” and I think that many fans approve of aquatic based Disney films. This film should do well with Disney fans of all demographics if the imagery above is consistent with the film.
How do you all think “Moana” will do compared to other Disney films?
