Keanu Reeves jumps straight from playing “John Wick” to playing a giant dick as an American NASCAR driver in a race across china for “Rally Car.”

Keanu Reeves re-teams with Lionsgate, the same company that brought audiences the action packed thriller “John Wick: Chapter 2,” for a story of an egomaniacal American NASCAR driver who embarks on a race across China for “Rally Car.” Read more after the jump!

That’s right Reeves fans, while the dust has yet to settle from the brutally epic sequel to cult hit “John Wick,” Keanu is headed into another project and it’s all about his ego. Well, technically it’s about the ego of an American NASCAR driver who heads to China for an International Rally Race in a bid to restore his career. But, with the aid of a fellow Chinese female racer, Reeves’ self-centered character learns the value of teamwork.

“Lionsgate” obtained the U.S. distribution rights to “Rally Car” a few weeks back during the Berlin Film Festival. The project is set to begin production sometime this year and will film across the United States as well as China. The film will be directed by Olivier Megaton, the director behind “Taken 2,” “Taken 3” and “Columbiana.”

The “Rally Car” script will be the first feature penned by Jeremy Lott, based on a treatment by Stephen Hamel. Reeves will both star in and produce the high-octane thriller via his production company, Company Films, in conjunction with Stephen Hamel (“Passengers) as well as Mark Gao and Gregory Ouanhon of Fundamental Films.

Are YOU excited to see Keanu Reeves back behind the wheel for the high-speed action filled “Rally Car?”

Pooya: Since his wee lad-dom, Pooya has been a sommelier of cinema. It was likely some acting bug, fallen from the dust riddled ruby curtains of an enchanted old stage that did it. Those cinematic scarabs must have burrowed deep into his brain, irreversibly altering his mind, turning the poor boy down a dismal path. From his earliest years the strange boy would aimlessly wander the aisles of countless video rental stores, amassing his trivial knowledge with vigor. These actions befuddled the boy’s parents, who still would lovingly oblige his unusual attraction to the motion picture. Often seeking refuge in the cushioned seating of his local movie theater, the odd adolescent would immerse himself in the scripted and effects riddled realities unfolding on the screen before him. During his collegiate years, he was twice spotted on stage performing bizarre theatrical rituals before awe-struck audiences. When he departed from academia, he left behind his youth in exchange for a labor routine, but the strange young man never lost his long-cultivated love of film. Recently, Pooya was approached by FilmFad.com to join their budding team of entertainment bloggers. After hours of coaxing and an undisclosed number of honey jars, he accepted their offer. Finally he had come full circle. Finally, at FilmFad.com, he was home.
