Bryan Cranston works the other side of drugs in this trailer for “The Infiltrator!”
While we all love Bryan Cranston, he can’t seem to escape the “Breaking Bad” correlation and the ties to drugs. With the trailer released today for “The Infiltrator,” we find Cranston still in the drug game but working against the market, not for it. Set in Miami, Florida in 1986, this film is based on one of the biggest drug busts in history surrounding the most notorious drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Check out the trailer below.
Bryan Cranston is also joined by John Leguizamo, Diane Kruger, and Benjamin Bratt which makes for an interesting but very well rounded cast. John Leguizamo has been popping up in just about every genre over the past few years. He may have once been known for comedy but he’s starting to carry his own wait as a strong supporting actor in a variety of films. Diane Kruger is a recognizable face in the industry but her roles have been rather limited as of lately. And Benjamin Bratt has been even more scarce in film and television. While once seen as a heart-throb, A-list actor, he’s mainly been lending his talents to either voice work or small supporting roles. I have to say that I’m most interested in his part because it’s been so long since I’ve last seen him.
The film itself should carry some clout with Bryan Cranston being attached but subject matter of this nature also tends to be a win with audiences. Drug films tend to bring suspense and when integrating a true story, they add relevancy as well. While “The Infiltrator” may contain subject matter that we know very well as movie-goers, this is a film I plan to keep an eye on up until its release on July 15, 2016.
