It’s been almost a year since we last left Katniss Everdeen and now it’s time for the series to come to a close. Today the first full trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjacy Part 2” has been released and it gives us a glimpse into what could be an all-out war. Take a look at the trailer below.
It’s no surprise that I wasn’t a fan of part 1 of this series. In my opinion it was a bit slow-paced and the dialogue seemed to be very circular and redundant. Even hardcore fans of the books felt a little disappointed. From what I’ve heard from the fans, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” should be the film that does the third book justice.
Books like Twilight and “Harry Potter” have received a similar treatment with a two-part finale and they all seem to have similarities. The first part is a bit long and slow-paced while the second part is where we get our extravagant conclusion. I’m expecting The Hunger Games to follow a similar structure. “Mockingjay Part 2” should be the film audiences have truly been waiting for and this trailer eludes to that. With all of the districts united to start a war against the Capitol, I think that we can expect a much faster pace with a lot more eye candy type action.
For those that have read the books (I obviously haven’t), I’m sure you know the fate of the characters. But for us only familiar with the films, I think this could be a very exciting conclusion to “The Hunger Games” film series. Despite my disdain for “Mockingjay Part 1,” I am interested to see what happens in “Mockingjay Part 2.”
