While some people are wrapped up in a debate over ageist comments surrounding Hugh Jackman’s recent picture posted to Facebook, fans of the X-Men franchise are wondering if Jackman just leaked the first glimpse of Old Man Logan from the upcoming ‘Wolverine 3.’
Hugh Jackman recently posted a photo of himself perched over a plate of fish on social media that has commenters concerned about his hyper-aged appearance, but a smaller group of cult-fans might think otherwise. That’s right, fans of the long-standing X-Men franchise which birthed Jackman’s now A-List movie career may see this as the first promising look at an upcoming and highly anticipated project. For those unindoctrinated with the Fox-held Marvel family, I’m saying that this photo may be of Jackman’s classic adamantium clawed character Logan as an old man in ‘Wolverine 3.’
Fans of the “Old Man Logan” comic book series will immediately notice the resemblance in both the buzzed appearance of Jackman’s formerly devil-horned hair as well as his grayed and thickened mutton chops. While there has been no confirmation as to this being a real-life photo of Jackman or one where he is incharacter under prosthesis and make-up, a stroll through his comment section will show that fan speculation is certainly there.
Running from June 2008 through September of 2009, “Wolverine: Old Man Logan” is a well-received 8-issue mini-series from writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven, published by Marvel Comics.
Being that Jackman is slated to begin work on ‘Wolverine 3’ soon and that it has been rumored for sometime now that the story will heavily draw from the Old Man Logan series, I would say that it’s HIGHLY likely that this is indeed the first look at the forthcoming character. Not to mention, that plate of Fish seems somewhat Japanese in preparation… just saying.
