Have mercy and CUT IT OUT! “Full House” may be coming back to TV.
That’s right all of you 90s kids, it’s time to say “later dude” to reruns and get ready for a revival. That’s right, it’s not a reboot, it’s an original cast revival that has been and is currently being pitched.
We’ve seen semi-revivals like this before with mediocre to entirely unsuccessful ratings. “90210” and “Girl Meets World” are both examples of attempts to piggy back on a classic series’ success with failed attempts but despite shows such as those, Warner Bros. feels that a “Full House” revival is worth looking into despite its current success in syndication.
The shows’ lead actors, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos, have all remained close and even collaborated on a few things since the shows’ end. While many of these collaborations have been comedy skits or commercials, John Stamos has hinted at a “Full House” revival before on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” and Saget and Coulier have not shown any opposition to reviving the show.
“We’re sort of working on a twist on a sequel.”
– John Stamos
Personally, I have found the skits and commercials to be quite funny being a child of the 90s, but that comedic nostalgia can only be taken so far. Even if they were able to get a majority of the cast back, I’m not sure that the interest would be there for today’s audience. It may initially grab the attention of the older end of the 18-49 demographic but they are really going to have to throw a new age twist on the show to capture that younger market.
