First Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’ Is Here
The first trailer for “Dunkirk” showcases an intense World War II battle.
Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” is his first attempt at a war film and the trailer is finally here. Starring Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Mark Rylance, this film will depict the true events that took place during this iconic World War II battle. Take a look at the trailer below.
From the trailer, it looks like this may be another Christopher Nolan, visual spectacle. Given that this is his first attempt in the war genre, there may be some uncertainty in regards to his execution, but I have full confidence. There are elements to Christopher Nolan’s style that should compliment “Dunkirk” very well and do the film justice.
There are some recognizable Nolan traits throughout this trailer. Aside from the apparent visual signatures, Christopher Nolan favorites Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy will be starring in the film. Oscar winner Mark Rylance will be joining the cast in a leading role and oddly so will One Direction’s Harry Styles.
The actual Battle of Dunkirk was an evacuation of Allied troops in Europe from May 26, 1940 to June 4, 1940. Code named Operation Dynamo and also known as Miracle of Dunkirk, the evacuation was a response to Allied forces being surrounded by the German army during the Battle of France. There is a lot more to the story but just in case some want to see this film without a historical backing, I’ve omitted other details.
