The first “Assassins Creed” photo of Michael Fassbender shows him in full attire!
The first photo of Michael Fassbender in “Assassins Creed” has hit the web and looks very close to the video game characters we’ve seen in the series. While the film will be based on the Ubisoft video game series, some may be disappointed to hear that Fassbender’s role will not be any of the characters featured throughout the franchise.
Michael Fassbender will play an entirely new character named Callum Lynch who will follow in the same footsteps of other characters of the franchise but be a new story. Like the other characters featured in the video game, Callum Lynch will be a descendant of the Assassin’s society but at a different time and setting than other characters. He will be able to relive the life of his ancestor Aguilar in 15th century Spain by a connection of genetic memories. What will be different about this film versus the video game though is the modern spin the film is taking.
Instead of making the primary focus Lynch’s journey to the past, his character will evolve from what he learns of his ancestor. By reliving past experiences as an assassin, Callum Lynch is said to turn those experiences into knowledge and bring life to the Knights Templar (the assassin organization) in modern day. It is uncertain as to why he would have a desire to bring this into modern day or what would necessitate the need for a new order, but it should provide an interesting twist for the plot.
The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed. Production has not yet started for “Assassins Creed” but is expected to start on August 31, 2015.
How do you feel about this plot twist for the film and the first photo of Fassbender in the costume?
