Linda Blair talks to Film Fad about Horror classification at Wizard World!
There are a few iconic actors in the horror industry. Some may cite actors like Robert Englund (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) others may turn to vocal traits and list Vincent Price, but when it comes to icons of fear, I have to say Linda Blair ranks the highest on my personal “scare meter.” “The Exorcist” is a film that still incites fear today and will probably remain that way for many years to come. But while many would agree with the horror surrounding this film, it’s not actually classified as horror according to the film’s star Linda Blair.
While IMDB may simplify genre classification of films and deem “The Exorcist” a horror film, Linda Blair specifically states that it is a “theological thriller.” Linda elaborates on film classification in the interview with Glenn below and gives him a quick “educational rundown” of how her films should be classified. Take a look at the interview below.
Linda Blair may be known for her films and TV spots, but her passion lies with activities outside of Hollywood.
