The trailer for Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings” has arrived and it looks very “Gladiator-esque” with an underlying biblical theme. With films like Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah” stirring up controversy earlier this year, I’m curious to see if Ridley Scott’s film about Moses will do the same. Take a look at the trailer below.
So we have Christian Bale (Moses) and Joel Edgerton (Rhamses) being the focus of the trailer and then we have Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley credited as well. An A-List cast is definitely present and the visuals look stunning, but how will audiences perceive this film? In regards to the audience I’d say that the best thing for a good turn out would be a high amount of controversy. Controversy tends to bring more press than good reviews as unfortunate as that may be. Given “Exodus: Gods and Kings” biblical theme, I would expect some evangelistic protests which will gain the film exposure. And despite that exposure being negative, that exposure will still bring attention to the film. What do you all think, will this film be a success or failure?
