“Dumb and Dumber To” Trailer Hits Small Screen

It has been a 20 year wait, but Harry and Lloyd are back!

All of those who have been anxiously awaiting the sequel have already seen the “Dumb and Dumber To” (great sequel name) theatrical trailer, but now it is being pumped into homes for the scrutiny of all America.  I was quite curious to see the changes from the the theatrical trailer to the TV spot.  I thought the TV spot would be more geared toward a generation unfamiliar with our Dumbnamic Duo.  The original is undoubtedly a comedic classic but if today’s teens have not seen “Airplane” or “Blazing Saddles” how can we expect them to have seen any comedy made before they were born?

I enjoy both of the trailers equally, but think that because today’s youth may need more of an introduction to our IQ-slighted friends they may have been best been served switched.  The theatrical trailer seems to have a few more original jokes, while the TV spot tends to rely more on references from the original.  Either way I have high hopes for the highly anticipated sequel.

What are your thoughts on the TV spot?

Mike: Mike has spent nearly all his life amassing education, degrees, and most of all overwhelming student debt. And none of it has had to do with film. Minus one film class in college, the only experience he has with film is personal exposure due to sheer enjoyment and entertainment. He writes for FilmFad.com partly because of this interest in film, but mostly because he is so narcissistic that he gains great joy from hearing his own opinions. Now that his family and close friends are tired of hearing his opinions he desires to venture out to exhaust new venues with his overly-analytic and trite commentary. Hopefully he finds some success in such blogging, if not, the orderlies will have a lot of writing to clean off of these padded walls.
