The “Doctor Strange” trailer is coming next week!
Jimmy Kimmel has been the prominent host for dropping trailers on network television. He’s had a slew of trailers he’s premiered including Captain America: Civil War and “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Now with “Doctor Strange” coming later this year, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will be doing a week dedicated to Marvel with the first trailer set to premiere.
Starting April 11th, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will play host to a week of Marvel-themed shows on the Disney-owned ABC, beginning with “Team Cap” on Monday’s show with Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, and Paul Rudd poised to appear, followed by “Team Iron Man” on Wednesday with Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Chadwick Boseman, and Paul Bettany.
New pictures were released of Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor this week and given the context of the shots it almost seemed like a foreshadowing of the trailer coming soon. As for what we can expect to see in this trailer, I would expect it to be cut into three acts. We’ll probably get the origin story spawning from the tragic accident surrounding Doctor Strange’s hands. Next it will probably follow his journey to heal himself while learning about the mystic arts. And then finally we’ll probably see a glimpse of the epic battle with Mads Mikkelsen’s undisclosed character. While this is just speculation as to what we will see, it does fit into the Marvel trailer formula.
The trailer is set to premiere on Tuesday April 12, 2016. During this week “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will be splitting its Marvel content between Team Cap and Team Iron Man influenced themes in response to “Captain America: Civil War” coming soon.
