Seasoned showrunner Scott Buck from HBO’s acclaimed series “Six Feet Under” and “Dexter” is set to take the reigns of Netflix’s upcoming fellow defender series “Iron Fist.”
As confirmed with Marvel Television by CBR, fans of the ever-growing and audience adulating Marvel Netflix Universe have yet another series to be excited about. Just as the hordes of Jessica Jones bingers spill onto the internet to praise and prod the latest Marvel series, Netflix firms confidence in the eventuality of an ‘Iron Fist’ follow-up with veteran guidance.
According to Marvel the series will play out something like this:
Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Buck’s recent addition not only shores confidence of fans of the Netflix universe, but also extinguishes rumors that the Danny Rand centric series was either going to be nixed or re-adapted as a Neflix feature. Buck’s critical successes, both with a darker tone, make him an ideal guiding force in continuing the quality Marvel installments that Netflix has been churning out.
While there is no set date in place for the expected premier of the “Iron Fist” series, this will certainly fall in line behind the “Luke Cage” series, currently in production, as well as the anticipated second season of “Daredevil.” Given the properties in cue and the general timing between these Netflix projects, I would not expect to see the high flying kicks and flurried mitts of “Iron Fist” until 2017.
What do you think about Scott Buck taking on the Netflix ‘Iron Fist’ project? Are you excited about the growing Netflix Marvel Universe? We want to know, so tell us in the comments section below.
