The SDCC Deadpool trailer is finally here in full HD and “mature-rated.”
Ever since we saw the leaked trailer from San Diego Comic Con, we’ve been anticipating a high resolution “Deadpool” trailer. Now after a short tease from the “Merc with a Mouth” himself, we finally have the Red Band HD trailer we’ve been wanting. Be warned, this trailer has explicit content and is not safe for work. Check it out below.
Fox has been very creative and lenient with their approach to the Deadpool film. In addition to the harsh content which will obviously get the film an “R” rating, they’ve allowed Ryan Reynolds to poke fun at the studios and other roles he’s played. While in the trailer we hear him make a reference to his suit not being “green or animated” (“Green Lantern” reference), the previous trailer for the trailer is where the real fun lies.
In the trailer for the trailer below (this idea itself is hilarious), Ryan Reynolds pokes even more fun at himself and then throws a jab at Fox. Making the reference of being a “five time Academy Award viewer” rather than winner is poking fun at his usual typecast roles. But when he references Fox as the “studio that inexplicably sewed his mouth shut” as a references to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” it just makes you laugh and also sets the tone for the film.
I think that “Deadpool” is going to be chaotic and a lot of fun. Fox is taking a chance by trying to “harness chaos” and give the fans what they want with “Deadpool” and I think that it’s going to pay off well for them. They have the right actor in the role, they’re not censoring the character, and they’re ultimately giving the fans what they want. Based off of what we’ve seen thus far, “Deadpool” could be the most accurate comic book adaptation to film we’ve seen.
