CW’s ‘The Flash’ Adds Jesse Quick to Season 2 Cast

CW’s “The Flash” adds depth to it’s season 2 cast, adding speedster Jesse Quick.

According to a TVLine exclusive report, realtively unknown indie actress Violett Beane has been picked up to join the cast of Season 2 as female speedster, Jesse Quick

Beane’s character will allegedly appear in multiple episodes of the hit CW “super”-series. The report continues

[Jesse Quick] is a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad (the not-yet-cast) Zoom.

In the DC comic book universe, Jesse Chambers aka Jesse Quick is a second generation hero with Flash-like speed and super strength. The daughter of DC Golden Age heroes Liberty Belle and Johnny Quick, Chambers activates her speed using the same formula that let her father draw energy from the Speed Force.

The Season 2 add-ons don’t stop there, as “The Flash” also picks up Demore Barnes to play a the firestorm-foe, Tokamak. According to ComicBook.com, Barnes has been cast as Henry Hewitt, more notoriously recognized as Tokamak, a less prevalently seen villain in the comic books. According to the CW, Henry Hewitt is:

A charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash.  When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.

“The Flash” Season 2 is also lated to introduce multiple realties to the series, opening the door for fellow speed force member Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and perhaps Wally West. With “The Flash” making an ambitious set of casting moves bringing in various talent and touching on both iconic and lesser known characters, it will be interesting to see how the Season 2 compares to the successful 1st season. Perhaps the obscurity of the source material behind certain additions will dampen the expectations of fans, allowing for an effective incorporation of the new characters and their respective story arcs.

Beane will also be seen opposite Michael Ian Black in the upcoming indie comedy, “Slash.”

Season 2 of CW’s “The Flash,” starring Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes and Jesse L. Martin, premieres Tuesday, October 6th at 8/7c.

Pooya: Since his wee lad-dom, Pooya has been a sommelier of cinema. It was likely some acting bug, fallen from the dust riddled ruby curtains of an enchanted old stage that did it. Those cinematic scarabs must have burrowed deep into his brain, irreversibly altering his mind, turning the poor boy down a dismal path. From his earliest years the strange boy would aimlessly wander the aisles of countless video rental stores, amassing his trivial knowledge with vigor. These actions befuddled the boy’s parents, who still would lovingly oblige his unusual attraction to the motion picture. Often seeking refuge in the cushioned seating of his local movie theater, the odd adolescent would immerse himself in the scripted and effects riddled realities unfolding on the screen before him. During his collegiate years, he was twice spotted on stage performing bizarre theatrical rituals before awe-struck audiences. When he departed from academia, he left behind his youth in exchange for a labor routine, but the strange young man never lost his long-cultivated love of film. Recently, Pooya was approached by FilmFad.com to join their budding team of entertainment bloggers. After hours of coaxing and an undisclosed number of honey jars, he accepted their offer. Finally he had come full circle. Finally, at FilmFad.com, he was home.

  • I'm pretty excited about jesse Quick being in season 2. I loved Johnny Quick in the old All-Star Squadron comics and Jesse is a great legacy character.
