Half of the casting speculation has come to a halt with Colin Farrell confirming his role in “True Detective Season 2.”
It’s official, Colin Farrell is one of the lead actors for the second season of HBO’s “True Detective.” While he only makes up half of the casting for the show, there is still much speculation as to who will take the other lead role. Check out what Farrell had to say about his role and the second season below.
“I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot,” he said, “I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.”
It sounds like the change in casting won’t be the only difference in the show, there will also be a change of venue filming in Los Angeles. The first season had a very eerie small town vibe which made it unique in my opinion so I hope that they can capture that same uniqueness filming in such a crime-saturated location.
As far as the rest of the casting goes, there are still rumors floating about. Elisabeth Moss, Rachel McAdams and Jessica Biel are all said to be contenders for a role in the series but none are yet confirmed. Though, one rumor that has been squashed. It turns out that the rumor surrounding the Olsen twins being contenders was indeed just a rumor. To that I have to say, “thank God!”
What do you think everyone? Will “True Detective” carry the same clout that it had from the first season?
