DC Animated Films Producer James Tucker reveals his next passion project.
In an exclusive interview with Film Fad at New York Comic Con, James Tucker affirmed his love of “Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.” This was previously a passion project of his. Now with that project finalized and met with positive reception, “Wonder Woman 77” is next on his dream list.
“I would of said a year ago ‘Return of the Caped Crusader’ was that. Now I really want to get that ‘Wonder Woman 77’ thing going. So…fingers crossed.”
This comes at a time when the Wonder Woman character is on the rise. Between her Batman V Superman debut and upcoming Wonder Woman solo film, Gal Gadot’s film version of the character has received lot of praise. The film popularity has also expanded Wonder Woman reach in other areas. Former Wonder Woman TV actress recently joined CW’s “Supergirl”. Even more recently Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman got her own comic book series titled “Wonder Woman 77.”
With so much going on and James Tucker’s blessing, a “Wonder Woman 77” animated film is more than plausible. There’s even a Batman 66/Wonder Woman 77 crossover set to take place in the current comics. Currently there is interest for an untitled Wonder Woman DC animated project. But while that interest exists, neither a title nor a plot exists. New York Comic Con even had a tribute to Wonder Woman costumes along with a Wonder Woman 77 costume.
If “Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders” sells well and is received well among viewers, then our guess is that “Wonder Woman 77” talks will follow shortly after.
