Ben Affleck’s Batman will be filled with rage according to him

Batman is going to be flawed with ‘rage’ according to Ben Affleck.

We knew Batman was going to be much older than the Batmen we’re used to, but now he’s going to be angry too? Now if a kid tries to steal his Batmobile we’ll have Batman meets “Gran Torino” and the only thing missing will be a variety of racial slurs!

Get off my lawn!

According to Ben Affleck, much of the rage will be similar to his own suppressed rage. He claims that he can relate to Batman’s buried anger by applying it to his own life experiences where the anger comes out in stronger bursts the longer it is suppressed.

‘For me, anger is so deeply buried and contained that when it does kind of come out, it comes out in stronger bursts.

‘I’m not gonna do a Wolverine berserk rage, but I do have a, I do…’

So what does this mean for Batman? It doesn’t venture too far from Batman’s persona, in fact it’s the premise for Batman’s vigilante justice. The death of Bruce Wayne’s parents is the driving force that keeps Batman going. Given that the character has aged, he’s more battle-worn, and he never got over the loss of his parents, I’d say it’s a very interesting dynamic to add to “Batman vs Superman.”

Many people wonder how Batman could ever take on Superman and many wonder why he would even try and I think the answer lies in Ben Affleck’s response…”RAGE.” If they are pushing the angry side of Batman, then anger could replace any reservations due to fear of Superman and if he’s angry enough, it could even have him ignoring the logic of facing the “Man of Steel.” I think it would be awesome to see a completely unhinged Batman that completely feral in his fighting style.

What do you all think?
