Review: ‘The Little Prince’ Is A Mostly Perfect Adaptation

This film adaptation can’t live up to the book but then again how could it? However that being said the first half of the film is nearly perfect. However in the second half after they’ve run out of parts of the book to adapt and it fully becomes the film’s story; it loses a lot of interest. People who have not read the book will probably not be as bothered by the fans. Even though it is flawed it’s clear the filmmakers loved the book and tried very hard to capture it and for the MOST part they did. I give it 4 out of 5 stars on a string.

Boston Comic Con 2016 Recap

We got an interesting recap of a Comic Con today, in particular the Boston Comic Con of 2016. This is different from the other recaps on this site for a couple of reasons. Unlike the others I was the only member of Film Fad present and was not able to obtain a press pass for the event. We’re unsure as to why as this site has been to and covered bigger cons like New York Comic Con. I had a VIP pass, but other than that no special access. However I do think I had a wonderful time at my second time coming here.

Review: “Pete’s Dragon” Takes Flight But Doesn’t Soar

“Pete’s Dragon” is not a bad film but also not a great film either. An almost completely different version to the original. Its slower pace is refreshing in a kids film, but may be a little too much for the kids in the audience. Enough of a likable energy permeates the film to make it engaging enough not to leave midpoint, but nothing terrible exciting to beheld by those who stick it out. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

But Is It Really That Stupid: Addams Family Movies

One of my all time favorites would be “The Addams Family” and “Addams Family Values”, I love them to death and have watched them since I can remember despite them being one joke movies. It’s basically “oh isn’t it funny, they’re doing a dark creepy version of a normal activity ha-ha?” A film that succeeds despite it’s very simplistic approach. Nothing major or substantial, just a fun flick to enjoy. Stupid fun… but is it really that stupid? I know I’m not alone in loving these films in particular and this franchise in general. Let’s remember The Addams Family as a franchise has existed since 1938, gone through several different types of media, and is still going strong with plans for a new reboot in the future. Something doesn’t last this long and through so many changes if there isn’t something more to it, so is there?

TBT Review: ‘Splash, Too’ Barely Makes A Drip

Due to my bad habit of tracking down every sequel to films I like, I forced myself to watch this. From the stupid plot that makes NO SENSE and does everything it can to undo the first film to the lackluster performances from actors who are no replacement for the originals. There is as little of a reason to watch this as there was to originally make it. I give it 1.5 stars out of 5.
