Adrian Grenier And Mimi Rogers Take ‘Public Affairs’ To Norfolk, Va
D.C. be damned, Adrian Grenier and Mimi Rogers are set to film ‘Public Affairs’ in good old Norfolk, Va.
A new political thriller movie is headed to Norfolk, Va and with it comes star of HBO’s ‘Entourage’ Adrian Grenier and seasoned actress Mimi Rogers (‘Bosch’).
According to Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, the Eric Bross directed thriller will begin filming around the Norfolk area in June. The governor also noted Virginia’s sizable, and steadily growing, film industry as well as highlighting the state’s artistic integrity and rich political history.
Virginia has a rich filmmaking history that reflects our Commonwealth’s great contributions and key roles in American history and politics. – Gov. Terry McAulliffe
While very little other information surrounding the film has been released, IMDb’s plot synopsis on the film’s page describes ‘Public Affairs’ as:
A young campaign aide gets in way over his head when he sleeps with the wife and daughter of a presidential candidate only to end up bleeding out on the side of an empty road at night.
Seemingly centering around politics, one would think ‘Public Affairs’ would be better off filming in the Washington D.C. Area. Aside from the recent precedent set by big budget films like Tom Hanks’ ‘Captain Phillips,’ another likely reason the production may have dipped south to Norfolk rests with co-producer and Norfolk native Jeff Frizzell.
I am proud to be able to help bring this feature film to Virginia. Our locations and crew are second to none, and with the extraordinary help of the Virginia Film Office, we were able to make this possible.
‘Public Affairs’ was written by Tom Cudworth (‘American Girl’) and will be executive produced by George Voskericyan as well as co-produced by Eric Boss, Stephen Israel and Jeff Frizzell.
