Duck Tales is Coming to Disney for a Reboot
DuckTales is coming back to Disney XD for a reboot!
It’s time to revisit your childhood. Disney has ordered a reboot of its popular cartoon “DuckTales” that ran from 1987 to 1990. According to Deadline, the series has been ordered and set to release on Disney XD in 2017.
The new series will follow Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews — Huey, Dewey and Louie — and the optimistic yet temperamental Donald Duck as they embark on high-flying adventures worldwide. Other beloved characters slated to be in the new stories are: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack.
For those that remember the Emmy winning cartoon, you’re probably old enough where you have kids of your own to share with. The series was so popular that it spawned multiple video games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and even a recent reboot for all of the next gen video game systems. It was probably Disney’s most popular cartoon at the time but they did have their fair share of successful television shows.
To hear that the series is getting a reboot makes me feel nostalgic and reminiscent about how good classic animated shows used to be. The show was one of my favorites as a kid and hopefully they can make it a favorite for this generations’s children.
We don’t need a reboot, just reruns. Throw in Darkwing Duck as well!
