Netflix is making it’s move into the original series realm. With multiple Emmy nominations this year, it’s hoping to expand its viewer base by tapping into the superhero market with the upcoming “Daredevil” series. Charlie Cox (“Boardwalk Empire”) has been cast as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent) has been cast as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin. With a protagonist and antagonist already cast, it was inevitable that a love interest would be thrown into the mix. That’s where Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) comes into play.
Deborah has been cast to play Matt Murdock’s love interest, Karen Page. Typically Karen has been a blonde but I am hoping that they don’t pull a page from “The Amazing Spider-Man” (Emma Stone) and they keep Deborah Ann Woll as a redhead.
In my personal opinion, this has made me even more excited to watch the show. As campy as “True Blood” can be, Deborah Ann Woll is probably the main reason I watched the show.
Excuse me while I have a perverted guy moment…
Despite her abilities as an actress, she is one of those sultry redheads that stands out among the rest. She exudes sexy in “True Blood” and that show, like many others, capitalizes on the fact that sex sells. So while I will be fully engaged in the show to appease my inner comic book geek, I’m going to be even more captivated by lustful desire with Deborah Ann Woll’s presence on the show.
Deborah, if you ever want to do an interview…you know where to find me!
