Tom Hardy to star in FX African TV series
Tom Hardy will star in an FX series “Taboo” about an adventurer in Africa.
“The Dark Knight Rises” star Tom Hardy will be making his way to television. In a new FX series titled “Taboo,” Tom Hardy will play a “rogue adventurer” in Africa. According to EW, this adventurer will be seeking vengeance for the death of his father and may be caught up in blood diamonds.
Titled Taboo, the series is set in 1813 and follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), “a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a very dangerous game.”
“Taboo” already has some notable names attached to it. Outside of this being a passion project created by Tom Hardy and his father, Ridley Scott will serve as the executive producer of the series. With films like “Gladiator” and more recently “Exodus Gods & Kings”, Ridley Scott should definitely present audiences with a high quality television show.
The FX series is tentatively slated for 2016 and the first season will consist of 8 episodes.
