Toy Story 4 is coming in 2017
Just when we thought they were done, they pull us back in! “Toy Story 4 is coming!
According to Slash Film, “Toy Story 4” is set to hit theaters in 2014. While many of the gang is expected to return, there will be some newcomers. Rashida Jones and Will McCormack will be co-writing the film which may introduce some new flair to “Toy Story.”
We’ve also learned some new info including who helped break the story, and the fact Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are writing the script. There’s also a quote from Lasseter.
I thought that “Toy Story 3” brought closure to the series. We saw Andy grow up and go off to school leaving his childhood behind. It was an emotional ending to a well rounded trilogy and a metaphorical “passing of the torch.”
As much as audiences will appreciate another film, I feel a bit torn because of how well “Toy Story 3” closed the series. I’m guessing that “Toy Story 4” won’t have much screen time for Andy. I’m thinking that the story will surround a new child’s involvement which may be considered a new chapter but an unneeded chapter.
I’m sure that “Toy Story 4” will do very well and probably be a great film, but I think that I will carry a bit of disappointment due to opening what should be closed.
