Star Wars Episode VII characters share ties to Count Dooku
Could “Star Wars Episode VII” characters share lineage with Count Dooku?
We recently reported that Obi-Wan is rumored to get a spinoff film, but now it sounds like there may be some juicy tidbits regarding characters of the upcoming “Star Wars Episode VII” film! According to Making Star Wars, solid rumors are circulating that cast members Adam Driver and Gwendoline Christie may play characters that share lineage with Count Dooku aka Darth Tyranus. Read the quote below.
And the recent Adam Driver rumor – Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwendoline Christie, the Count Dooku connection, and now the Driver rumors. These are all based on that central idea of an aristocratic family ‘line’ involving Episode 7’s bad guys. And as I said before, I firmly believe its the line of Dooku. Details and characters might have changed but the idea of an aristocratic villain with a heritage going back to the Clone Wars has been there from pre-production and as far as I know it’s still a major part of the story.
It’s interesting that these characters would share lineage with Count Dooku and I’m even more interested in discovering how that lineage is shared. Did Dooku father children at some point or did he have other family members such as a brother or sister that kept his legacy alive in some way?
I think this is a nice way to tie in previous films while also creating a new story. The link between past characters is so far distanced that the film can still maintain its creative originality while appeasing fans who enjoy connection between the films.
As long as no one shares lineage with Jar Jar, I’m content. We’re getting a new “Star Wars” film and that’s excitement enough for a die hard fan like myself!
