Ghostbusters 3 Plot And Date Are Continually Changing

It’s unfortunate that we lost Harold Ramis before Ghostbusters 3 was completed. He was such a vital part of the first films having roles both behind and in front of the camera. It seems like every time there is a spark of hope for a third film, it’s quickly extinguished. While it is uncertain whether or not Harold Ramis’ death delayed the film’s release, it is certain that there is nothing concrete at the moment. Even Ernie Hudson (Winston) indirectly confirmed that his uncertainty with the film in an interview he did with Bloody Disgusting.
“I think we’re going to start shooting in the fall, or maybe the spring…once again, it kind of changes a bit…and I’m always reluctant to say anything because they tell me one thing and then it doesn’t happen. It’s unfortunate, you know, Harold is not here. Harold was the glue…he was amazing. He was an icon. So you’re going to get a Ghostbusters, but obviously it’s going to be a Ghostbusters without Harold. It’s going to be different. So it has to be original and it has to be something that is worth all the 30 years of waiting.”

Even Max Landis (Chronicle) confirmed via Twitter that he was not writing the script after the rumors almost seemed like they were fact. With so many rumors being shot down, the death of Harold Ramis, the confusion amongst cast members, and the overall uncertainty, it seems like this film may never be made. And to be honest, at this point I don’t know if I want the film made because it’s going to be difficult to properly honor the original films.
