IMAX launched a visual splendor today with a behind-the-scenes look at “Transformers: The Last Knight.” Within this featurette we get a look at how the Transformers franchise has evolved over the years. Michael Bay praises IMAX for its ability to supplement the visual aesthetics, showing off the cameras in action. We also get a small preview of the upcoming film towards the end of the video. “Transformers: The Last Knight” takes us on a journey of discovery this time around. Optimus Prime seeks to revive his planet after discovering he was the one responsible for its demise. To do this, Optimus must seek out a sacred artifact. The only problem is that the artifact is located on Earth. Like the other Transformers films, this brings the battle to our home planet. I’m sure that we can expect a lot of the same action that we’ve come to enjoy from these films over the years.
While the franchise may have not excelled in critical acclaim, every Transformers film has been a box office success. The characters themselves carry wide appeal and despite lacking cinematic substance, the films are indeed fun. Most audiences would agree with the fun factor and the proof is in the ticket sales. All of the films have made the top 100 list of highest grossing films of all time.
