Drake Cast as Bishop for Next ‘X-Men’ Movie
Rapper Drake has just been cast as X-Men time traveler Bishop!
With X-Men Apocalypse being the result of time traveling in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” Fox has decided to further explore that element. With fans getting excited for Cable being cast, Fox has already cast Drake as Bishop, another prominent time traveler in the universe. Drake seems to be more than excited to play the role of the iconic X-Men character.
Fox called me on my cell phone, late at night to offer me this role. But I knew when that hotline bling, me as Bishop would be the perfect thing.
– Drake
Drake seems to be very confident about being offered and accepting the role and who can blame him? With his futuristic style of dancing in his famous “Hotline Bling” music video, it was obvious that he would be considered to play Bishop. Time traveling is always a tricky subject in films but Drake proved to everyone that he has an understanding of things that no one of this time could ever comprehend.
As Bryan Singer has taken his own liberties with exploring the franchise, Fox has their own plans for Drake’s version of Bishop. The original character was able to absorb energy directed towards him and then project that energy back in concussive blasts. Drake’s version of Bishop will still absorb energy but project it back at his foes in the form of arrhythmic dance moves that will prove to be far more powerful than the comic version of the character.
While the next X-Men film is still untitled, we do know that Fox is also courting Taylor Swift to take on the role of Dazzler and Rapper Meek Mill to play the role of Bishop’s nemesis Trevor Fitzroy.
