10 Game of Thrones Stars in Blockbuster Films
Natalie Dormer – Captain America: The First Avenger
While Sansa Stark was the first to catch the eye of King Joffrey, it was Margaery Tyrell who captured his heart. With her charming personality and subtle but manipulative influence, she was the only person to temporarily break Joffrey’s sadistic exterior and be a voice of reason. With that said, it’s not surprising that her charm was able to temporarily seduce Captain America at a time of weakness.
Playing the role of Private Lorraine in “Captain America: The First Avenger,” she was the only other woman to steal a kiss from Cap besides Peggy Carter. Her time in the film was brief but she sure stirred up trouble between Captain America and his love interest Peggy Carter.
Sean Bean – Lord of the Rings
Sean Bean is notoriously known for dying in films, so it was no surprise when Ned Stark’s life was ended in “Game of Thrones.” Sean Bean is so notorious for dying in films that we even presented a short list of films where he didn’t die.
While many loved his role in “Game of Thrones,” Ned Stark is not the first medieval fantasy character he’s played. In the ever popular “Lord of the Rings” films he played the character Boromir who also met his fate. He was not an integral part of the story but he was important by showing that the hearts of the most noble men could be corrupted by the power of the ring. Even though “Lord of the Rings” may have been a bigger role, I still think that his role as Ned Stark was the role I prefer for Sean Bean.
Jason Momoa – Batman V Superman
Khal Drogo may be the most intimidating character in “Game of Thrones” and responsible for planting the seed that allowed Daenerys Targaryen to grow into the “mother of dragons.” While his time on the show was short-lived, his impact was immensely iconic. He was the only character that fans begged to have resurrected in some way and his popularity is probably what put Jason Momoa in the spotlight to be cast as Aquaman in the upcoming film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
While the only thing we know about his upcoming role is from a photo, that photo says a lot about his portrayal of Aquaman. Many are excited to see his sea-worn approach to the character rather than the traditional green and orange fish suit. Hopefully Jason Momoa can live up to the photo and the expectations that have been set by fans.
