‘Independence Day 2 Resurgence’ Trailer Leaks Early

The “Independence Day 2: Resurgence” trailer leaks ahead of schedule!

While the plans were to release a variety of high profile trailers during Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, plans for the “Independence Day Resurgence” trailer premiere have been foiled. The internet has become a culprit for leaked media and this trailer is something that Fox definitely doesn’t want audiences to see as of yet. Check it out while you can! Take a peek below.

I was a HUGE fan of “Independence Day” when it first came to theaters and still enjoy the film today. In this trailer we see many familiar faces including Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, but no sign of the main star Will Smith (as expected).

Many were hoping to see Will Smith make a cameo in the film given that the first “Independence Day” was the film that skyrocketed his career as a blockbuster movie star. Unfortunately the rumblings and news about his exclusion from the cast appear to be true.

While he may not be present in the film, there are a slew of other characters to build upon the nostalgia from the first film. As mentioned Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will be returning but also Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, and even Brent Spiner.

This film may carry on the legacy of the first film with a number of recognizable characters from the first film but hopefully the film can find its subtle comic relief character like they did with Will Smith. In addition to the characters mentioned, the film does seem to have its share of lustrous special effects to bring the film into modern day. Hopefully “Independence Day: Resurgence” will do its predecessor justice.
