Could Anna Kendrick Be Robin In Ben Affleck’s ‘The Batman’?
Anna Kendrick is being constantly teased as Robin, could there be some truth to the teasing?
Just after lobbying to Ben Affleck for the role, Anna Kendrick has garnered even more support to play Robin. Joe Manganiello, recently cast as Deathstroke, shared an instagram photo alongside Kendrick. In the photo, Manganiello included caption “#Deathstroke and #Robin #MoheganSun20,” campaigning for Kendrick as Robin.
As mentioned, Anna Kendrick did some campaigning of her own in a recent MTV interview. During the interview she wore some Robin inspired attire pushing for a female version of the character. While things seemed to carry a humorous tone, the interview explored the joke a bit further. Going into detail about the character, everyone entertained the possibility to an extent.
If Anna Kendrick were to play Robin she would be the first woman to play the live action role. Ben Affleck’s Batman has already shown similarities to Frank Miller’s version in “The Dark Knight Returns.” If the story were to expand, Anna Kendrick could play the role of the Carrie Kelly Robin. This role was previously rumored to be played by Jena Malone.
While the campaign for Kendrick to play Robin may be there, it’s definitely in a speculative state. Other actors have had similar campaigns to play iconic characters. Much like those other campaign moments, this movement could easily come to a screeching halt. But for now, it’s fun to entertain the idea.
What do you think Anna Kendrick’s chances are? Could she find her way into the role of Robin?
